Dick Smith Foods' Tasty Aussie cheddar, Aussie cheese slices and Extra Light
cheese slices are produced by Bega Co-operative Society in the Bega Valley in
NSW, one of Australia's prime dairy producing locations.
Our cheese range is perfect for use in cooking, on sandwiches, or as a
snack.

- Aussie Slices - full cream - in 12 and 24 individually wrapped
slices
- Aussie Slices Extra Light - 50% Reduced Fat – in 24 individually
wrapped slices
- Aussie Tasty Natural Cheddar - 500g Block
Cheesy Potato Cakes Recipe Makes 8 | Ready 15 mins preparation/27 mins cooking
1kg potatoes, peeled, diced
250g Dick Smith’s Aussie Tasty
Cheddar, grated
1 red capsicum, finely diced
6 shallots, finely chopped
2 tablespoons chopped fresh
flat-leaf parsley
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons plain flour
4 tablespoons Dick Smith’s Canola Oil
Mixed salad with Dick Smith’s
Asparagus Green Spears, to serve
METHOD:
- Boil potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain well, mash.
- Add 200g of cheddar, the capsicum, shallot and parsley to the mash. Add
salt and pepper, to taste. Form 8 patty shapes. Put flour on a plate
and lightly coat patties.
- Heat half the oil in a large frying pan over medium-low heat. Don’t have
heat too high.
Add half the patties and fry for about 6 minutes on both sides.
Set aside, keep warm. Heat remaining oil and fry remaining patties. Serve
potato cakes, topped with remaining cheese.
Serve with the salad.
