Sourced from a single estate situated along the banks of the River Murray at Wemen in North West Victoria, Dick Smith Foods Extra Virgin Olive Oil is coming to a supermarket near you in February 2012.

The conditions found in this area are perfect for growing. The mix of warm summer days and cool nights, combined with fertile red soils guarantees the finest quality premium oil.

Our Olives are pressed within hours of harvest to ensure we are able to produce the freshest magnificently Australian Grown Extra Virgin Olive Oil there can possibly be. The Olives are harvested mechanically to ensure that they are trapped before they fall on the ground to ensure our product is not contaminated. We understand that European imported oils are from olives collected straight off the ground, often raked straight off the bare dirt.

Dick Smith Foods Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a blend of Arbequina, Barnea, Coratina, Picual and Frantoio Olive varieties. These blends are recognised for their superior 'oil producing' characteristics. The oil is packed with fresh fruity and penetrating flavours. The finish displays mild bitterness and balanced peppery notes.
